Eleven days and counting...
School starts for me in eleven days! Teachers go back on the 12th, but students come on the 19th. Is anybody else as nervous as I am? This is the first year that I have not spent my summer working on my class! I had my students help me clean and organize the last few days of school because I planned on spending my summer with my sweet baby boy. And let me tell you... I have enjoyed laying around with him all day and taking our three daily naps. How am I going to survive without those!? Anyhow, I went to work in my class yesterday and I have lots to do...finals for my grad classes are this week and the countdown is running for back to school. Think anyone would notice if I brought Cooper with me ( btw- he's sitting up now💜💜)?
Back to School Itch
Oh my lawwwwddd! Where has the summer gone!? School starts the 19th here this year.. Later than all of the other surrounding districts. I am normally in work mode after two weeks of summer break, but I have been sooo enjoying my time with my sweet 7 month old baby 💜💜! Time is running out and I have GOT to get my classroom in order. What are you doing to get ready for the new year? My room needs a little TLC before then!

Pen pals
School is around the corner. Thankfully, my district has a longer summer this year and we go back on August 19th (usually its the 5th). I found a great blogger who pairs your class up with pen pals. How great is that!? I have never had pen pals for my kiddos, but I know it would help with their writing! Being new at blogging, I'm not sure how to use her cute button (I promise I'll get better) but here is the site- http://teacherideafactory.blogspot.ca/2013/07/pen-pal-pair-up-2013-need-partner.html?m=1.

Summer Boredom
I have been so bored this summer. It's definitely a different kind of summer with an infant in tow. He's the sweetest thing ever though 💜. I have been looking at blogs lately and I'm going to try to keep up with mine. It'll be easier I hope once school starts because ill have something to talk about and pictures to show. I recently got a Cricut, so I'm trying to find things to make for my class with it. I have decided on a new Accelerated Reader board- island hopping for reading. I'm going to have the four major islands along the MS coast ( for 25, 50, 75, and 100% of their reading goals) and put the kids' faces on sailboats. Ill post pictures soon, but for now here is a picture of my sweet Cooper Baye (6months now)!

Lesson Plans
Okay, so thanks to Wendy and Brittany, I think I know how to upload my lesson plans. Just click on the link here to view my plans for next week. The format is a little messed up because it does not show the correct font in the google viewer..but I don't know how to fix that! I'm just curious to know if this is how lesson planning is everywhere. :) I'm looking forward to going back to school next week and starting to blog about it!

Lesson Planning Madness
Well, I only have two school days left of maternity leave, and today I spent alllll day working on my lesson plans for next week. I pretty much have it all finished, but I need something on teaching comparative/superlative adverbs. Funny because I don't remember teaching that last year... oops, hopefully it's just my bad memory.. We are still getting more familiar with our new Common Core benchmarks. Working on my plans all day has me wondering what is required at other schools. I know that at my school we all have different ways of creating and writing my plans, but we have to meet certain criteria for each lesson (objective, anticipatory set, procedure, assessment/closure). We also have to integrate technology and listening skills. I was going to attach my lesson plans for next week for yall to see, but I can't figure out how to do that!! Any advice?? I'm really interested in seeing other plans, too. And since I am a newbie.. I don't know if this is even possible. Thanks for any feedback!!!!!

New to This!
Okay, so this is my very first post ever!! I am soo thankful that my friend Brittany set up my blog and made it super cute! I knew I had to start a blog once I saw hers. I have been messing around with the whole teacherspayteachers website while I have been on maternity leave (by the way, I have the cutest baby boy ever!! He's six weeks old today!). I always see the best ideas on other blogs so what a great way to share what I am doing in my class, as well!! Can't wait to explore blogging and learn new things!
